At New Beginnings Bridal Studio, we are always looking for great tools to make our bride’s wedding planning experience easy and enjoyable. Let’s talk about the most famous planning website…Pinterest.
What CAN’T you find there?! If it’s not on Pinterest, it probably doesn’t exist! There are so many creative geniuses in this world…how lucky we are to be able to sneak peeks at their beautiful masterpieces of creativity. Not too long ago, we had to buy every magazine we could get our hands on to find some inspiration. We would chalk that up to the first wedding expenses! But now, with just a few key words and taps of our thumb we have myriad of ideas to get our minds turning. From intimate backyard gatherings to grand ballroom affairs, there’s an overload of wedding inspiration and information.
Here’s a few cautions to keep tucked in that pretty head of yours as you scour those countless in
- Dreaming is so much fun. Be careful to keep ideas in scale with the venue you have chosen. Yes, sky is the limit, but are you really going to want a s’more bar and red checked tablecloths in your lavishly carpeted ballroom? Will the deep burgundy and black satin chair covers look at home on the beach?
- When it comes to searching wedding gown styles, remember that Pinterest does not offer much on accurate pricing, if any in the description of that gorgeously detailed gown you’re swooning over. The more lace, beading and design detail, the higher the price. The quality variation in fabrics alone are endless. And no, you can’t buy the same dress online for only $99.
- DIY is great! You may thoroughly enjoy a good project! Make sure you realistically think through the cost of materials needed and the time it will actually take you to make the items you’re looking at. Planning a wedding is time consuming, with hundreds of detail decisions to make. It may be more cost/sanity effective to look into renting that item. And the end result of hiring the professional will, in most cases, justify the expense. Stress is a key factor of un-enjoyed events…don’t let that ruin your wedding day of all days!
- Save the photos that speak to you, then revisit them a few weeks down the road after you have a better idea of how you want your vision to take shape. Delete the ones that no longer represent the direction you are going and keep that board a clean display of your style and theme. Your wedding professionals can easily guide you when there’s a common thread in your board as oppose to random pretty pictures.
So go! Immerse yourself in all the stunning images at your disposal. Remember, your wedding day is YOUR day! It’s a celebration of the unique, one of a kind couple that makes you two who you are. It is a day for filing away happy, fun, precious moments with your fiance and loved ones. That’s the end goal to keep in mind along the way!
